Spine

Cervical · Thoracic · Lumbar · Sacrum

Curving column of 33 vertebrae. Each region has its own positioning challenges — open intervertebral disk spaces and clear C7/T1 are the unforgiving requirements.

Positioning importance

  • Coach breathing — even slight motion blurs the spine.
  • Use spinal curves to set CR angles (15° caudal AP C-spine, 3–5° caudal AP L-spine when collimating).
  • C7/T1 visualization on lateral C-spine is non-negotiable in trauma.
