Supine on fluoro table; joint accessible to needle.
Part position
Joint prepped sterilely; contrast (and/or air) injected under fluoro guidance.
Central ray
Perpendicular to joint of interest.
IR placement
Per joint (8x10 to 10x12).
Tech pearls
Common: shoulder, knee, wrist, hip.
Often combined with MRI (MR arthrogram) for labral/ligamentous detail.
