UPRIGHT BUCKY
Patient position
Upright, ~1 ft from IR, leaning back with shoulders against IR.
Part position
Hands on hips, palms out; lean back to project clavicles above apices.
Central ray
Perpendicular to mid-sternum.
IR placement
35x43 cm.
Tech pearls
Best view for apical disease (TB, Pancoast tumor).
If patient can't stand back, angle tube 15–20° cephalic instead.
