IMAGE RECEPTOR
Patient position
Upright or supine.
Part position
Shoulders relaxed, no rotation.
Central ray
AP: perpendicular to mid-clavicle. Axial: 15–30° cephalic to mid-clavicle.
IR placement
24x30 cm crosswise.
Tech pearls
Axial view clears the clavicle from rib superimposition.
For thin patients, use a lower angle (15°); thick chest needs 25–30°.
