Perpendicular to the 1st MCP joint.

Small DR field, collimated to thumb.

Tech pearls

  • Robert's method (true AP of 1st CMC) is excellent for arthritis evaluation.
  • For oblique, abduct the thumb and place palm flat — natural 45°.
