IMAGE RECEPTOR
Patient position
Seated or supine, knee flexed, plantar surface on detector.
Part position
Foot plantar on detector for AP.
Central ray
Perpendicular to 3rd MTP (or 15° posterior angle).
IR placement
Small DR field divided.

Tech pearls

  • Tape adjacent toes back with gauze for lateral isolation.
  • Use 15° posterior CR to open the MTPs.
