Scaphoid (Ulnar Deviation)

PA with ulnar deviation, optional 10–15° proximal angle

Patient position

Seated, PA wrist position.

Part position

Ulnar deviate the wrist as far as tolerated.

Central ray

Perpendicular to the scaphoid, or angled 10–15° proximally.

Tech pearls

Elongates the scaphoid for suspected fractures.
Stack 3–4 views with different angles (Stecher) if doubt remains.
